Gary Cass -

Gary Cass is an experienced Building Control professional with extensive experience across both public and private sectors. Holding esteemed designations including Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers, Chartered Building Engineer, and Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, Gary has demonstrated a profound commitment to excellence throughout his career.
With a career primarily focused on technical and strategic leadership roles within the private sector, Gary has been instrumental in cultivating robust team cultures and achieving notable milestones. Notably, as Managing Director, he successfully obtained an Approved Inspector license for a burgeoning warranty provider, playing a pivotal role in their growth. Additionally, in his tenure as Building Control Managing Director for the UK’s second-largest warranty provider, Gary’s leadership ensured the team regained their AI license and attained independent ISO 9001 accreditation.
Gary’s dedication to safeguarding individuals within the built environment and enhancing user experience with Building Regulations implementation is unparalleled. His passion led him to be appointed as the inaugural CIOB & LABC standards scholar, conducting extensive research on the interface between traditional building fabric and thermal upgrades under L1b. Building upon this scholarly foundation, Gary pursued a Master’s degree at Cambridge University, focusing his thesis on the impact of Building Control on the mental health of dwelling occupants. Currently, he is pursuing a part-time PhD with a focus on the correlation between housing and health.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gary actively contributes to esteemed organisations such as the CIC and NHBC Hackitt review groups. He has lent his expertise to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) by aiding in the development of guidance notes on cladding. Moreover, Gary’s involvement as a former policy board member for the CIOB underscores his commitment to advancing the profession. He generously shares his wealth of knowledge and insights as a speaker at numerous professional and academic events, including conferences organized by LABC and CIOB.

Chief Financial Officer

Her strategic insight and analytical acumen equip the leadership team with the information necessary for making well-informed decisions, thereby bolstering the company’s growth initiatives and operational effectiveness. Pam occupies a pivotal role in sculpting the financial trajectory of Build Insight ensuring the organisation’s enduring financial resilience and adaptability within the dynamic construction and building control landscape.

Amy Clulow -

Amy is responsible for overseeing all operations at Build Insight ensuring that our company provide a great service to clients throughout the compliance process.
Amy is an experienced Building Control Surveyor with over 18 years of experience in Building Control. During her time in Building Control, Amy has worked from the position of Graduate Surveyor to our new Managing Director. Amy has a range of experience from working on a commercial television studios development to new secondary school, as well as a host of projects across the domestic sector.
In 2018 Amy was awarded membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and is working towards becoming an RICS assessor for professional interviews.

Nicki Gould -
Tech CABETechnical Services Manager
Nicki has worked almost her entire career within Local Authority organisations. Beginning work straight out of school at the age of 16, she progressed through various departments gaining vast knowledge. Over the last few years, she has been working in the Building Control environment. Nicki is now Head of Projects Operations and is responsible for the smooth running and growth of the company’s operational side.
