Does my project need building control approval?
It depends on the work. Extensions, conversions and some alterations or installations may be covered by building regulations. Contact us before work starts if you are unsure.
Is planning permission the same as building regulations approval?
No. They are separate processes, and a project may need both. We can help you understand the building control side of your project.
Can I apply directly to Build Insight?
Yes. Our Apply page explains how to submit directly or use the Planning Portal. The Planning Portal may charge a separate service fee.
What do I need to do once work begins?
Follow the inspection arrangements for your project and send any required notices or declarations at the relevant stages. You can find the forms and notifications here.
